After the Macondo blowout a consortium of oil companies develop a concept where dedicated shuttle tanker could be temporary coverted in an "FPSO". In case of a major oil spill oil would be collected from the sea surface and processe onboard the temporary FPSO's. Brevik Engineering did the engineering related to pre-installed equipment on the shuttle tankers.
